What you will be doing

As a SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible to support Global SHEQ & Sutainability Director on the STC SHEQ strategy and objectives. To lead, develop and maintain STC’s SHEQ management programs and systems in the concerned region. To support line management in delivering SHEQ objectives


Job Responsibilities


SHEQ Manager region:

• Execute (in conjunction with line management) the strategic direction determined by the global director for the continuous improvement of SHEQ management program and systems.

• Advise line management and assist with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules and Company standards to include: fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of Company and contractors’ sites.

• Lead safety incident investigations, provide SHEQ expertise during the investigation of Customer Complaints, provides support and expertise to line management, monitor corrective actions and ensure all documentation is updated.

• Take full responsibility for regional preparations and execution of periodic health, safety and quality assurance audits.

• Assist in managing vendors through improvements based on non-conformities, supplier audits and KPI’s.

• Advises line management on health, safety, quality and environmental matters and manages this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.

• Guide regional management or project teams on SHEQ related projects and tasks as they arise to ensure SHEQ principles are integrated.

• Monitor, analyze and regularly report SHEQ trends & statistics of set critical performance indicators to the global director and to the local management team as agreed or required by applicable legislation, regulations, adopted Industry and SHEQ standards, programs or best practices.

• Advice pro-actively to and keep the global manager abreast of any suggestions for improvement, areas of concern etc. that need regional / global focus and/or follow up.


Reputation and branding:

• Pro-actively analyze, identify, report & share learnings with SHEQ Coordinators and/or STC employees regionally through regular communications to improve the organizations SHEQ awareness and performance.

• Further develop the safety reputation of tank container logistics and the organization’s HSE reputation by representing and participation in project teams or local industry organizations such as ITCO and CDI and SQAS.


Improve & develop SHEQ awareness and behaviour:

• Develop & implement SHE&Q related training and HSE awareness in conjunction with the global manager, to promote STC’s SHEQ principles & culture in the organization.

• Guide train & develop local management and local employees in the area of SHEQ to become competent.

• Pro-actively analyze, identify, report & share learnings with STC employees regionally through regular communications to improve the organizations SHEQ awareness and performance.

• Pro-actively report to global director and (local) management on the status, progress, achievements and concerns in achieving agreed objectives & deadlines;


Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· Trained Internal Auditor ISO 9001 and / or ISO 14000, or willing to be certified;

· Knowledge of the logistical trade is an advantage.

· Minimum 4 years’ experience in logistics & transport industry;

· Operational and/or commercial experience preferred;

· Demonstrable experience in SHEQ (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, SQAS, IMPCAS);

· Working hours: 5 days’ work week (Monday – Friday), 9am to 5.30pm
