Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Teacher to join its Junior School (Primary/Elementary equivalent).

Responsibilities and Duties:
- To support in a class as decided by the Head of Junior School;
- To support the class teacher in the learning of each child;
- To work alongside the class teacher to create an environment in which the children’s learning flourishes;
- To be responsible, with the class teacher, for the pastoral care of the children in their class and to be involved in the pastoral care of all children in the Junior School;
- To take part in the planning and preparation for learning both inside and outside the classroom as led by the class teacher;
- To take responsibility for the management of classroom resources, the replenishment of materials, setting up of the classroom and ensuring the safety of the teaching environment;
- To be aware of, and take part in, the schools performance management framework and participate in training and development activities as required;
- To facilitate the learning of individual children or a small group of children, guided by the class teacher and in consultation with the class teacher;
- To manage behaviour positively, as agreed and set out in the school policy;
- To attend staff meetings and professional development activities as required;
- To participate in the extra-curricular life of the children by leading, organising, or being involved in extra-curricular activities within the school day in the Junior School;
- To undertake supervisory duties in the dining hall and playground as directed by the Head of Junior School;
- To act as a role model, showing awareness of individual needs and responding to them;
- Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, welfare, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person;
- To carry out other duties, as may be reasonably requested by Head of Junior School, and the Headmaster of Dulwich College (Singapore).
All other duties commensurate with the role.
The successful candidate will have:
- Min GCE ‘O’ Levels;
- A Certificate or Diploma in Education or equivalent, or working towards a relevant qualification;
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a classroom/school setting;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrable experience in supporting children’s learning in a stimulating learning environment;
- Have experience as a teacher/assistant teacher to primary students
- Awareness of the importance of using a variety of assessments and observation to assess children’s learning;
- Commitment to supporting all aspects of our programme including extra-curricular activities and contribution to the school community;
- Previous experience in an international school and familiarity with the British education system would be desirable.
