Senior Civil Engineer
Primary Role
Responsible for advanced Planning, designing, integrating, installation, rigging and lifting equipment, including management of contractors and vendors.
Responsible for supervising and assessing the set-up of all project components, managing all aspects of an engineering project, prepare schedules, communicate with clients and project progress.
Key Activities
- Provide guidance and direction to civil engineering staff, ensuring their compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and codes
- Oversee and regularly review engineering processes and resources to maximize efficiency and productivity
- Develop plans for new engineering initiatives, including investigating new technologies and developing plans for new project implementations
- Required to be analytical and precise, in order to explore alternative solutions and analyze feasibility of plans
- Work independently and coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement new processes and technology, to offer innovative solutions to customers
- Design, communicate and implement an operational plan, create and maintain cost estimates for projects and programs
- Identify, develop, and gather the resources necessary to complete the project. This may include preparing engineering standards, designs, and work specifications
- Developing project schedules, budget, and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, and external contractors
- Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (engineering, design, drafting, technical) to secure specialize resources and contributions for the project
- Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
- Set priorities, allocate tasks, and to meet project targets and milestones, ensure smooth authority submission
- Solve technical issues such as drawing discrepancies, site condition changes, verify plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy, raise RFI when necessary
- Ensure accuracy of setting out, levelling and site surveying and all materials used and work performed are as per specifications
- Liaising with project consultants, architect, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
- Support Project manager to liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws
- Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers, and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress
- Overseeing quality control and assist safety department to achieve health and safety target on site
- Preparing method statement, daily weekly and monthly report
- Ensuring all site inspection and record as per client/developer requirement
- Ensuring all testing and quantity inspection are carried out as per contract requirement
- Analyze and resolve engineering problems and demonstrate effective skills in oral and written communication
Requirements
Min 5 years experiences in civil, infrastructure projects
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, PE board recognized
