The Legal Counsel will be an integral pillar of the Core team, providing comprehensive legal support on a broad scope of legal matters across the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance law and a proactive approach to legal challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide legal advice and support on all products and services, including policy terms and conditions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support business initiatives and decision-making.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, risk assessment, and claims, to provide legal guidance on operational matters.
- Assist in the management of litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel as needed.
skills and experience required
- Bachelors of Law degree with relevant Bar qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector
- Strong knowledge of contract law, insurance law, and related regulations and policies
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset
