The Portfolio Manager provides oversight of a portfolio of change initiatives. They collaborate with leaders and stakeholders from cross-functional teams to ensure change activities are coordinated and executed to achieve strategic objectives.
This includes establishing and maintaining the portfolio, articulating the strategic direction and priorities, and guiding projects through governance processes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership regarding the ongoing alignment of the portfolio to the business and technology strategy
- Lead portfolio reviews with executives, providing transparency into the health, risk and financials for individual projects or programs and the portfolio, executing change and reprioritization as necessary to meet business needs
- Advise and mentor program managers and project managers providing guidance and leading the advancement of program delivery competencies
- Ensure the portfolio is complying with Chubb’s governance standards, internal and external audit requirements and standards, and Agile practices
- Ensure the portfolio benefits are defined and managed during the portfolio lifecycle, and that the realization is monitored
- Support financial forecasting and performance tracking for the portfolio
- Identify, track and resolve cross-portfolio risks, dependencies and conflicts
- Inform annual planning and facilitate monthly/quarterly program delivery reviews
- Manage the allocation of Program and Project managers based on priorities
- Line management of Program and Project Managers including monitoring of their
- Collaborate with other Portfolio Managers to establish and increase fluency in key methodologies and tools – agile, Jira, Mural and others as needed
- Leverage working knowledge of insurance and the domain to guide the development of innovative and effective solutions

- Deep knowledge of insurance, finance or retail services value chain, particularly in aligned domain
- End-to-end digital product management lifecycle experience; preferably in insurance
- Strong knowledge of portfolio management tools including Jira and Clarity

Education, Knowledge, Experience
- Delivery experience as a program or portfolio manager
- MS/BS degree in computer science, software development, or business OR a background in business, technology, product development and management
- Portfolio, Program and / or Project management certifications (PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, PgMP, PfMP)
- Agile certifications (CSM, SAFe)
