Morgan McKinley is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer for a 12-month contract role with a leading multinational social media company. This position offers the opportunity to manage and support one of the world's largest and most complex networks, focusing on Network Point of Presence (POP) Infrastructure design, critical infrastructure projects related to space and power, and broader network management tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee regional space, power, cabling, and infrastructure requirements to support current and future Edge network needs.
- Design and plan new electrical and mechanical infrastructure for data center sites.
- Collaborate with engineers to design and layout Edge/POP site floor plans, allocating space for network functions such as optical, backbone, IP, and compute.
- Deliver SOW Engineering design packages for both new and existing Edge/POP sites, adhering to Edge and Network Services (ENS) standards.
- Contribute to the evolution of documentation, automation, and operational processes.
- Ensure all infrastructure needs for current and future POP sites are met.
- Lead retrospective reviews to integrate lessons learned into future project roadmaps.
- Ensure adherence to processes and documentation standards, and support the site acceptance process for new POP locations.
- Travel as required for site surveys and evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Must have 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in Data Center design and infrastructure.
- Experience with Telecom Central Offices, Data Centers, Collocations, and Remote Hut environments, with a deep understanding of power and infrastructure engineering.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoDesk tools, BIM 360, and Blue Beam.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license or local equivalent is preferred.
- Knowledge of optical network design, installation, and maintenance for service providers or enterprise networks.
- Hands-on experience with Power-related projects is a plus.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and operate within a global team.
- Willingness to travel up to 10-30%.
