Job Description:
- Review risk acceptability, calculate pricing and define associated terms and conditions based on underwriting guidelines, examples such as:
- New business requests
- Processing of renewal exceptions
- Endorsements
- Claims clarifications on coverage
- Fleet / Agency / Partners – ad hoc requests.
- Quickly respond to underwriting irregularities and escalate as required.
- Handle enquires to support other departments on underwriting matters, this could include Claims, Customer Services, Sales, Marketing & Partnerships, Agency, QA, IT and Pricing.
- Work primarily with QA, Sales and Customer Services to ensure business practices align consistently with our underwriting guidelines.
- Conduct UAT for changes which have an underwriting impact.
- Pro-actively feed initiatives to continuously improve underwriting processes including referrals and product developments.
- Ensuring the underwriting guidelines are up to date
- Ad hoc reports and analysis as directed.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience with the insurance industry
- Working knowledge of underwriting, product rating and pricing methodology
- Knowledge of motor and travel insurance
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Methodical, logical approach to tasks and problem solving
