The Assistant Store Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring that sales targets are met, staff are well-supported, and customers receive excellent service. This individual will act as the Store Manager's second-in-command, stepping in during their absence and contributing to overall store management, including staff supervision, inventory control, and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Store Operations: Assist the Store Manager in managing all aspects of store operations, ensuring the store runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Sales Performance: Help monitor and analyse sales performance, working with the Store Manager to develop strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Staff Supervision: Oversee daily tasks of retail staff, ensuring they are motivated, productive, and delivering high levels of customer service. Step in to resolve any staffing issues or escalated customer concerns.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure that all customers receive a premium service experience. Address customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
- Inventory Management: Help manage stock levels, ensuring accurate stock counts, timely replenishment, and that displays are well-stocked.
- Training & Development: Help train new staff and provide ongoing coaching to retail employees, ensuring that all staff are knowledgeable about products and store policies.
- Store Reporting: Assist the Store Manager with compiling reports on sales, stock levels, and customer feedback to present to senior management.
- Promotion Execution: Work with the marketing team and the Store Manager to implement in-store promotions and events designed to drive customer engagement and sales.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that the store complies with health, safety, and company policy standards.
- Acting Store Manager: Assume full responsibility for the store during the Store Manager's absence, including decision-making and conflict resolution.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in a retail supervisory or assistant managerial role, preferably in premium or luxury brands, with experience in the fashion sector being advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to success.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with inventory management and familiarity with retail management software.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities.
- Ability to step up and take on more responsibilities in the Store Manager's absence.
