Description:

  • Work with the licensing process in specific jurisdictions and work with the other members of the Global Licensing Team to obtain key licenses.
  • Work on merger and acquisition transactions with other members of the Global Licensing Team.
  • Manage external counsel.
  • Conduct legal research into global laws and regulations applicable to the crypto industry with the assistance of outside counsel.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of the business's regional strategy.
  • Draft and revise application materials in collaboration with the Global Licensing Team and other business teams.
  • Collaborate with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals.
  • Assist with civil or regulatory litigation matters and supervise outside counsel as needed.
  • Manage additional legal requests from all areas of the business and effectively advise on legal concepts and legal risk with an eye towards the strategic goals of business leaders.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in a financial services-related industry or other firmly regulated space.
  • Experience working on corporate transactions, specifically mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships.
  • Enthusiastic about blockchain technology and have an understanding of the relevant legal/regulatory landscape.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage and multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams.
  • Ability to navigate through legal ambiguity.
  • Self-starter, quick learner who is highly driven, proactive, responsive and precise.
  • Project management experience with superior organizational skills.
  • Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with a global legal team.
  • Regulatory experience in the financial services industry.
