Regional Technical Service Manager

Mission:

Within a matrix organization, the candidate will transition technical knowhow into sales opportunities. Drive technical approvals (including OEM), technical support work including intense customer interactions to translate customer requirements into profitable sales opportunities for Lubricant Additives Business (LAB) across the product range. Define promotional story lines for sales team in coordination with Application Technology, Business Development & Regional Sales Account Managers to develop winnable value propositions.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Project Leadership:

  • Manage and lead technical service projects, including new product development, complaint resolution, raw material approval, and the introduction of existing products.
  • Ensure successful execution of projects within established timelines and budgets.

Customer Interaction and Support:

  • Engage with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Drive technical approvals, including those for OEM partners.

Training and Development:

  • Deliver technical product information, updates, and training to sales teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with technical team to support product development initiatives.

Market Analysis:

  • Collect and analyze data on market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Identify potential opportunities for growth and improvement based on market insights.

Networking and Collaboration:

  • Maintain a broad network with external authorities, research institutes, and government organizations.
  • Foster relationships that support the organization’s technical and strategic goals.

Strategic Technical Guidance:

  • Provide technical expertise and insights to the management team regarding strategic growth opportunities.
  • Support the development of long-term strategies that align with business objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a technical service or sales support role.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Proven project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading technical projects.
  • Ability to stay updated on industry trends and technical developments.
  • Travel may be required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
