Job Summary:
Working hours: 8.30am to 6.00pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 8.30am to 5.30pm on Fridays
Location: Havelock Square
Salary range: Supporting Librarian ($2000 - $3500), Manager ($6000 - $7500)
Responsibilities:
(a) Collection development and maintenance (print and electronic
resources);
(b) Managing acquisitions and contract negotiations with vendors (print
and electronic resources, including subscription/ renewal of online
databases);
(c) Preparation and management of the Library budget and handling the
day-to-day operations of the Library, including:
i. Circulation services;
ii. Inter-library loans and document delivery;
iii. Reference and information services;
iv. Information literacy services (including orientation briefings
and training sessions);
v. Promotion of library resources and services; and
vi. Monitoring patron and collection usage and security.
(d) Maintains and updates sets of main legislation, subsidiary
legislation, and Rules of Court in hard copy.
Requirements (Manager)
(i) A Diploma (preferably from a local polytechnic).
(ii) At least ten (10) years of relevant experience working in libraries of similar capacity.
(iii) Experience in a law library is preferred.
(iv) A Certificate in Library and Information Management.
Requirements (Supporting Librarians)
(i) A Diploma (preferably from a local polytechnic) with at least
three (3) years of relevant working experience.
(ii) Experience in a law library is preferred.
