Senior Project Engineer – RC Structure (Precast & In-situ)
This role will be positioned on a construction site managing fabrication of precast concrete elements, delivery from Malaysia, on site erection and in-situ topping slabs and puddle pours.
Job Responsibilities
- Report to and assist Construction Manager (CM) on project functions included but not limited to project site coordination, logistics, risk control management etc. to meet the project(s) goals.
- Assist CM in project planning, implementation and to coordinate all RC related construction works on the project site are in accordance to the master and detailed work program.
- Prepare delivery schedules for precast concrete elements (columns, beams, hollow core planks), carry out weekly inspections in Johor precast factory in coordination with QAQC team, coordinate delivery and stockpiling on site of precast elements.
- Coordinate with design team and precast factory to manage and implement and design changes/additions (block outs, embeds etc) to the precast elements.
- Prepare, plan and submit project related documents, such as schedules, method statement, design plan, risk assessment, monthly report, etc.
- To supervise the execution of the RC construction works including but not limited to transfer of precast elements from stockpile yard to tower cranes, lifting/erection operations, coordination of topping slab and puddle pour in-situ works and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with contract specification/bills of quantities, construction drawings, company’s quality standards, Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) practices and all other contract documents.
- Attend regular meetings with Client’s Representative, Consultants and/or Contractors and ensure the progress is on schedule.
- Be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as your superior/management deemed fit.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Civil (or Structural) Engineering
- 6+ years experience in site work including precast and in-situ concrete work for RC structures and exposure to managing/coordinating fabrication of precast concrete.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills applied to planning for construction works.
- Excel spreadsheets and planning skills.
- Good negotiation, communication and subcontractor management skills.
- Resourceful, independent and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional skills in Microsoft Project and AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Drivers license is advantageous (for factory inspections).
