Job Summary
The Insurance Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and efficiency by bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. This individual will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into functional specifications that can be understood by technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements Analysis:
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders, including product owners, subject matter experts, and end-users.
- Conduct in-depth interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather comprehensive information about business processes, data needs, and system functionalities.
- Create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), use cases, and process flow diagrams.
- Solution Design:
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and develop IT solutions that align with business objectives.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications that can be understood by developers and testers.
- Ensure that IT solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Project Management:
- Assist in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful delivery of IT projects.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and project teams to track progress and address issues.
- Prepare project status reports and presentations.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze insurance data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop data-driven insights to support decision-making and business strategy.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
- Facilitate consensus among stakeholders with conflicting interests.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., UML, BPMN).
- Knowledge of insurance products, processes, and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements (Preferred)
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, IIBA)
- Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Knowledge of insurance technology platforms and systems
