Storekeeper Supervisor

Job Summary:

As a Storekeeper Supervisor, you will lead and manage the storekeeping team, ensuring the efficient operation of the company's storage facilities. Your primary duties include overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, equipment, and supplies while maintaining accurate inventory records. You will be responsible for organizing workflows, managing staff, and ensuring safety and security measures are adhered to. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of inventory management systems.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the storekeeping team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Train and develop staff to ensure high levels of performance and adherence to company procedures.
  • Manage work schedules and assign responsibilities to storekeepers based on operational needs.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and recording of all incoming materials and supplies.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Monitor inventory levels, approve stock replenishments, and ensure timely reordering of supplies.

Storage and Organization:

  • Develop and implement effective storage solutions to maximize space utilization and ensure easy retrieval of items.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols when handling and storing materials.

Record Keeping:

  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of all transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and inventory reports.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to resolve discrepancies and reconcile inventory records.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and relevant departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials.
  • Address concerns or issues related to material shortages, damaged items, or supplier performance.

Quality Control and Safety:

  • Conduct regular quality checks on incoming and stored materials to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure all equipment and storage facilities are well-maintained, safe, and efficient.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a storekeeper or supervisory role, with a solid understanding of inventory management and warehousing procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, vendors, and other departments.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: $2,500 - $3,200 per month, commensurate with skills and supervisory experience.
  • Benefits: Standard benefits package including medical coverage, annual leave, and potential performance-based bonuses.
