We are seeking an experienced Splunk Observability Monitoring Solution Consultant to join our team and deliver best-in-class monitoring solutions for our telecommunications clients. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand end-user requirements, provide best practices, and implement advanced observability solutions using Splunk. This role requires a strong understanding of monitoring tools and the specific needs of the telco industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Implementation: Develop and implement Splunk Observability solutions tailored to the specific needs of telecom clients.
- Requirements Gathering: Work directly with end users and stakeholders to capture requirements, understand business needs, and translate these into actionable monitoring solutions.
- Monitoring Strategy: Design and implement end-to-end observability strategies and frameworks for large-scale telco systems.
- Best Practices: Apply industry best practices for observability, monitoring, and incident management to ensure high availability and performance of telecom networks.
- Performance Optimization: Leverage Splunks full stack (including Infrastructure Monitoring, APM, and Log Observer) to optimize performance monitoring, reduce downtime, and improve system reliability.
- Consultancy & Support: Provide ongoing consultancy, troubleshooting, and support for clients to ensure optimal use of Splunk Observability tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, IT, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of Splunk Observability into existing infrastructure.
- Training: Educate and train end-users on monitoring and observability tools, ensuring they are empowered to make the most of the system.
- Incident Management: Participate in root cause analysis and incident resolution, leveraging observability data to reduce issue resolution time and prevent future occurrences.
Key Requirements
- Experience with Splunk: Proven experience with Splunk Observability Suite, including Infrastructure Monitoring, Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Log Observer, and related components.
- Telecommunications Expertise: Strong understanding of telecom networks, infrastructure, and specific monitoring needs in the telco industry.
- Client Engagement: Skilled in interacting with clients to understand their needs, particularly in the context of performance monitoring and system optimization.
- Best Practice Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry best practices for observability, including monitoring frameworks, data-driven incident management, and system reliability optimization.
- Performance Monitoring: Experience in setting up performance monitoring and alerting for large-scale systems, ideally in telco or similarly complex environments.
- Scripting & Automation: Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) and automation tools to streamline monitoring and troubleshooting workflows.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and provide actionable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- Splunk certifications, especially focused on Observability.
- Experience with other monitoring tools and solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Experience working in a consultancy role for telecom or large-scale infrastructure clients.
