Fine Fragrance Business Development Director
Main Responsibilities
- Develop the Fine Fragrance strategy in the region, following the Global vision and focus on our our goals.
- Lead a team of development experts (evaluation, marketing, business development) to ensure successful implementation of the development and commercial vision.
- Oversee the right level of resource allocation by client/project (Evaluation, Marketing, Consumer Marketing Insights, Business Development)
- Support and, challenge sales/clients requests as relevant.
- Foster cross category sharing/testing of best/winning themes for the SEAO development community.
Market, Client and Consumer Understanding
- Guide the local (country) BD and Sales team to ensure the research new sources of trend information and analyse new product launch information to understand consumer preferences and trends
- In-depth market and consumer cross-category understanding
- Develop and deliver strategic goals and presentations to support commercial goals
- Work with Sales and Development to contribute to building of key account plans and regional category strategies
- Inspire creativity by experimenting with new tools and approaches to produce fresh insights and bring “newness” that drives differentiation.
- Establish road map aligned and supportive of category, development and commercial projects.
Marketing and Development Programmes
- Work with cross-regional counterparts to agree marketing programmes with global application and to align processes and organisation
- Lead design of marketing programmes to address client needs and differentiate Givaudan
- Initiate and guide development of new creative marketing programmes and new sensorial presentation techniques to strengthen fragrance messages
- Develop and implement best practice for resource management including mindset of efficiency
People Management
- Recruit, lead, guide and manage members of the Fine Fragrance team
- Lead and motivate colleagues to deliver creative and inspiring marketing-led solutions for clients
- Agree and manage the team’s financial budget

Your professional profile includes:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Chemistry, Business, Engineering or other relevant field of study
- Minimum 10 years industry experience within relevant Sales, Marketing, Consumer Insights or Category Management including experience managing a team of which 5 years should be in Fragrance Industry ( fragrance categories are also welcomed )
- Fluency in English language
- Ability to build networks, to drive results through influence, to work in a matrix environment
- Knowledge of fragrance products, trends, key customers, and our competitors on a global and regional category level
- Experience developing and delivering a strategic vision for the fragrance category
- Sensory and Olfactory Skills: Demonstrates competent olfactory skills, can identify olfactory notes and communicate in fragrance language
- Experience building credibility and relationships with clients which includes an understanding of client strategy, priorities and launch processes
- Develops and delivers compelling and strategic presentations
- Experience managing multiple project under time and budget constraints
