Utilities Technician
Location: Pioneer, Singapore
Reporting to: Site Engineering Manager
As the Utilities Technician, you will support site operations including production activities by operation of utilities equipment and electrical installation; and perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities to ensure optimum uptime of the equipment. In this exciting role, you will also:
Main Responsibilities
- Support to daily monitoring, operation and maintenance of Building Management System, Utility Equipment (including compressed air system, process water, waste water system, HVAC, cooling tower and chiller) and electrical installation.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenances for the utilities equipment (e.g. pumps, agitators, valves) to minimize down time.
- Work with engineer to set up maintenance plan (preventive and predictive) for the Utility equipment and Electrical installation.
- Identify and estimate the resources (workforce, material and time) required for forthcoming / planned maintenance tasks
- Assist engineer in equipment troubleshooting, enhancements and utility line setup.
- Assist engineer to do improvement and monitor performance of equipment for optimization of equipment functionality
- Troubleshoot and repair Utility equipment and Electrical installation safety
- Coordinate with vendors/contractors for equipment maintenance and repairs
- Look for shortfalls in quality and quantity on daily tasks and work on small improvements
- Support and attend to daily ad hoc request with regards to maintenance
- Keep track of equipment spares and work with maintenance planner to replenish the spares upon depletion
- Attend to off-office hour call back to repair equipment breakdown
- Plan, organize and oversee work performed by in-house contractor and external contractor engaged for maintenance work.
- Learn safety policies and guide external contractors on site requirements
- As authorized permit to work applicant
- Good record keeping in all involved tasks relevant data in SAP
Academic Background
- NTC/ITC/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical background
- 4 or more years of experience in maintenance
- Preferably with experience running of utilities and/or electrical installation.
Technical Skills
- Familiar with basic SAP Plant Maintenance function (module)
- Knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
- Good coordination skills with contractors/vendors
- Interpret P&ID and mechanical/electrical drawings
