Teacher Partner

XCL World Academy has a vacancy available for a Teacher Partner role who will provide classroom support for students in the Primary Years , Grade 5 (Intensive English Class).This is a contract position starting from November 2024 to June 2025.


Main Responsibilities

  • Directly work with students supporting the teachers daily with the educational programme and leading classroom duties such as assisting with homework, organising folders, notifying parents of updates of students, and assisting students during activities and breaks.
  • Able to support the students with reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • Manage and interact with children in a positive and supportive manner and assist in the execution of instructional plans by supporting children individually or in groups in the classroom.
  • Pick up and drop off students with class teachers for lessons, to the library, cafeteria, bus bay, nurse station, or other facilities.
  • Undertake playground supervision per the duty roster, ensuring expectations are consistently reinforced.
  • Build on student capabilities and differentiate to meet student needs.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' physical, social, and emotional development. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with peers, showing respect, being prepared and on time, and always adhering to the school-wide meeting norms and essential team agreements.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formative and summative assessments.
  • Involve students in shared reflections during and at the end of each unit consistently.
  • Evaluate the programme collaboratively with teaching partners, parents, and students as appropriate, using agreed flexible systems.
  • Assist with any other admin or support duties that's relevant to the role.

Person Specifications

  • Minimum Advanced Certification/ Diploma in Early childhood courses or relevant courses.
  • Registered with the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) would have an added advantage.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
  • Proficient in the use of technology and online applications.
  • Preferably Certified in Child First Aid.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children as a full-time Homeroom Teacher Assistant would be preferred.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Japanese to support all students including Chinese and/or Japanese.
  • Provides excellent customer service to parents, students, teachers, and school leaders.
  • Promote and market the school to relevant stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, parents, students, and the wider school community.
  • Due to employment pass limitations, candidates who do not require a pass to work in Singapore will be considered for the role.
  • This is contract role from November 2024 to June 2025.
