Main Responsibilities:

As the Director, Capacity Central Planning, Assembly & Test, you will be directly responsible for leading capacity planning across global assembly & test operations, spanning tactical, mid-term and strategic capacity planning, covering short-term planning to a 3-year horizon. You will lead efforts in optimizing capacity allocation, drive cost-saving initiatives, and ensure alignment with business execution. In addition, you will establish central governance for capacity modelling and processes, ensuring consistency and scalability across the organization. Your plans and decisions will craft Micron’s ability to meet business demands efficiently, optimizing costs, and directly influence revenue generation through effective capacity management, site performance and capacity positioning. You will also lead efforts in driving capacity optimization and cost-saving initiatives, while also establishing performance for modelling and processes, creating a lasting impacting on the way Micron leads its global operations.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Global Capacity Optimization: Lead and run capacity expansion and allocation across internal and external assembly and test sites, ensuring that capacity is optimally positioned to meet business demands across short, mid, long-term horizons. Focus on both internal capacity maximization while using external flexibility.
  • Establish Central Governance: Develop and implement a centralized governance framework for capacity modelling and planning processes. Ensure consistency, scalability and alignment of methodologies across all sites, driving standardization and process efficiency
  • Cost Optimization Initiatives: Identify and lead cost-saving initiatives, including capital investment strategies, loading optimization between internal and external capacity, and improving workstation fungibility to reduce capital expenditures
  • Loading Allocation: Be responsible for product loading allocation across global sites, balancing site capabilities with operational flexibility to ensure cost-effective and efficient capacity utilization
  • Process & Systems Improvement: Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance capacity planning processes, tools, and systems. Drive initiatives to streamline workflows and improve scalability across the global network
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure alignment on capacity needs, cost efficiency strategies, and execution of the capacity plan
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team that is collaborative, innovative, and focused on driving continuous improvements in capacity planning and optimization

Candidate Profile:

You must have at least a bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of experience in capacity planning and management or operations management in semiconductor or high value/high volume manufacturing with at least 5 years in a leadership role. You must have good experience and/or knowledge in establishing governance frameworks for capacity modelling and process standardization across global teams with a proven track record in capacity planning and cost optimization within a global manufacturing network. You should possess strong analytical and decision-making skills, with expertise in capital investment strategies, loading optimization and workstation fungibility. You must possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels. Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, especially in assembly & test is highly advantageous.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in semiconductor memory or related industries
  • Familiarity with advanced packaging and test technologies
  • Consistent track record in driving capacity expansion, cost optimization and establishing governance frameworks
