JOB SUMMARY
- The Strategy an Digital Transformation Team is positioned to help enable the Fit for Growth transformation agenda of the Conduct, Financial Crime & Compliance (CFCC) function as part of the broader future vision of the Bank. - To drive, manage and embed our vision, we need an experienced Communications and Engagement Lead to drive engagement, plan and deliver strategic and change communications, and collaborate with both Senior Leadership and our first line of defence (1LOD) and second line of defence (2LOD) stakeholders on our strategic goals and agenda.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- The person must embrace a broad role within the function to help facilitate the development and ownership of a structured and targeted communications and engagement strategy that recognises the diverse range of stakeholders and the many communications channels that exist within and across the function.
- The planning and execution of the communications and engagement strategy will be a key focus. This will involve developing and/or tailoring communications materials and working with the relevant representatives from across the function and across the bank, including the Fit for Growth Programme, to ensure that communications and engagement exercises are delivered effectively to the right people at the right time. The communications strategy should enhance the function’s culture and encourage employees to live the Group’s values.
- Communications and engagement work includes: leadership communications, people leader communications, culture and change communications, engagement activity and events, including the planning and delivery of assets such as infographics, videos, animations.
- The role holder will work with other members of the CFCC team to maintain consistency in communications, planning and governance across multiple projects, and deep dive into selected initiatives where needed. They will provide strategic and tactical communications advice.
- Practice effective risk management, escalating issues when needed
Business
- Support the implementation of the communications and engagement strategy, by developing the detailed communications and engagement plan, managing the stakeholder analysis and developing the relevant communications artefacts for distribution via the relevant channels.
- Develop measurement and success metrics
- Be prepared to rapidly change the team’s course in response to the function’s changing priorities and communications needs.
- Build positive relationships between senior leaders and employees, as well as facilitating such positive relationships between 2LOD and 1LOD through communications and engagement.
- Continually reflect on the communications approach and be willing and able to iterate, adjust and improve on the strategy.
- Work with stakeholders to advise on impactful and relevant communication approaches; develop and prioritise communication based on the overall CFCC plans and milestones e.g. content development, timing, channels, frequency, audience, etc
- Partner with HR communications and change management practitioners and collaborate closely with HR leaders.
- Be part of an environment that promotes innovation and critical thinking.
- Ensure that tone and messaging of function communications are aligned with the corporate narrative, brand and tone of voice, including the function objectives and strategy

- Act as an advocate for change and for the Fit for Growth programme and objectives, where such opportunities arise.
- Participate in impact analyses and requirements gathering to understand key communications needs for our stakeholders.
- Support broader change management activities.
- Create high-quality, engaging content to support the CFCC strategy, including (but not limited to) customer stories, webinars, whitepapers, e-books, emails and webpages.

Risk Management
- Ensure there is due diligence on vendor capabilities and service records when evaluating vendor
- Manage and ensure communication budgets are within approved spend
- Identify, report and escalate issues, risks, business intelligence to leadership

- Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the basic regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Deliver ‘effective governance’; have the capability to challenge colleagues effectively, and willingness to work in an open and cooperative manner with all.
- Ensure that tone of voice, messaging, and behaviours are aligned with the corporate narrative when we engage and communicate

Our Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years of experienced in internal communications on global change and transformation programmes
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at appropriate level
- Strong self-manager who can take full ownership to scope, plan and deliver their work
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple assignments and cope with change and ambiguity
- Proactive mindset and a self-starter who is comfortable working as the sole communications lead within broader change and transformation team
- The ability to think through desired outcomes of communications strategies and tactics
- A track record in creating and developing content to support or enhance a strategy/narrative
- Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior management and third-party vendors, across multiple locations
- Experience in tools like Adobe InDesign, MS package like Power point, MS Excel and Video editing tools.
