Responsibilities
· Write scripts to validate that the code meets technical and functional specification
· Strong communication skills are required to interact with business customers on a regular basis
· The Systems Engineer will drive the design of our system architecture and actively prepare for new technical implementations (hardware, platform, product deployments)
· For Server Operations, support daytoday third level support (incidents, requests, change orders, RCAs, etc)
· Script the automation of regular tasks to help streamline operations and perform data collection
· Develop methods of collection and reporting Participate in the planning of future Z Series engineering services and infrastructure
· Work with Subject Matter Experts and the Application Development Teams to build, track, and manage access to the production and development mainframe environments
· Document standard operating procedures and review access rules to ensure that security standards are being followed
· Develop a good understanding of the activities required to execute application support functions
· Provide input and contribute to Application Support Manager/Lead related audits
Qualifications for mainframe support
· Deep knowledge of UNIX and Linux internals
· Expertise with shell scripting
· Must be able to multitask in a production and time critical environment
· Able to exchange information and ideas effectively w/customers and colleagues
· Analytical skills to solve simple to medium complex tasks
· Self-motivated individual that can multitask and adapt to a dynamic work environment
