With the collaboration between Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Transport Research Centre @ NTU (TRC@NTU) was set up in 2015 as an initiative to focus on mobility research for paving the way for Singapore’s future land transport system. TRC@NTU conducts research to enhance knowledge and drive innovation in specific focus areas including public transport, active mobility, driving and road system etc. TRC@NTU has the state-of-art virtual reality stimulators for driving, cycling and walking.
We are looking for a Research Fellow who will take charge of research and developments on projects in visual perception and action in virtual reality simulations and lab experiments, its possible applications in evaluating and improving safety in motion and vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in literature review
- Design of the experiments
- Take charge of recruiting participants
- Perform data collection and data analysis
- Summarize the findings in project reports and slides
- Prepare manuscripts for publication.
- Take charge of general matters for the projects, including keep track of the progress of the project, give presentations, manage part-time undergraduate student assistants, communicate with the research team, and liaise with collaborators
Job Requirements:
- Possess PhD degree in Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Science, Engineering or related fields
- Entry level candidates with a solid portfolio demonstrating analytical and model testing are welcomed to apply
- Familiar with psychological or behavioural experiments
- Strong knowledge of statistical software and programming languages including R, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, Python, C++
- Proven record in conducting preliminary data analysis
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, team player and able to work independently
- Has keen interest in virtual reality simulations and its software including Unity, UC-win
