Senior Accountant

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all accounting/financial operations, ensuring the excellence in company’s accounting operations, financial stability and growth. This role involves strategic planning, financial analysis, accounting operations and leading a team of accounting executive(s). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting/financial management within the IT services sector.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage & govern the full set of accounts for the multiple entities in countries – Singapore (HQ), Malaysia, India and for the services being delivered in SG, Malaysia, India, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, USA;
  • Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes;
  • Ensure the compliance to Accounting best practices, year-end closing and support the end-of-year audit processes;
  • Formulate the costing of services being offered from local and overseas locations;
  • Governance of meeting the stipulated deadlines for various statutory/tax related transactions e.g. in Singapore - GST returns, IR8A, IR21, tax returns, etc;
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the department for individual entities.
  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses. Present weekly reports to the executive team.
  • Manage tax planning and compliance activities. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders & Clients to formulate Service Agreements/Terms of Business/Scope of Work (SOW) for professional services offered to clients and issuance of invoices accordingly.
  • Take the responsibilities for regular cash flow management, financial planning/analysis, management reporting, risk management plan.
  • Implement and maintain robust systems, policies, and internal controls to achieve excellence. Assist in internal auditing the accuracy, completeness of the documents and records (i.e. SOW, Invoices, payroll information, contract, etc).
  • Manage the monthly processing and checking of time-sheets, payroll and reimbursement for billable project employees within the stipulated timeline.
  • As and when required, lead/manage the end-to-end process in setting up overseas entity(ies) covering local taxation and regional labour laws etc. of overseas subsidiaries.
  • Govern the activities related to company secretarial services as and when needed.
  • Miscellaneous transactions to be managed as and when needed: ESOP, Tax optimisation, valuations, project costings, government grants, ESG reporting, internal IT system improvements/implementations, cross border transactions i.e. withholding tax, transfer pricing etc.
  • Last but not the least, work with agility as a management lead catalyst for the growth of the business in an ever-changing environment.


Pre-requisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a team management role. Experience in the IT services industry is highly desirable.
  • Someone with proven track-record of delivering most of the abovementioned responsibilities of the role.
  • Hands-on work experience in accounting/financial principles, practices, and regulations within the region including India.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proven execution skills to run accounting operations and financial strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software e.g. Tally.
  • Ambitious with high level of learning agility, integrity and professionalism.
