What you will be working on

In this role, you will:

  • Design, build, secure and operate emerging Mainframe technologies and processes.
  • Manage the service level of Mainframe systems and track problem management of Mainframe issues.
  • Perform reviews of system changes, processes, and routine system monitoring.
  • Monitor emerging technology trends relating to the Mainframe computing environment and recommend the adoption of new technologies/methodologies when appropriate.

What we are looking for

We value the diverse talents and experiences that each individual brings to the table. While mastery of every requirement may not be necessary, familiarity and expertise in some of the following areas will position you for success within this team.

  • Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of z/OS, System/Storage management, and tools.
  • Relevant experience in mainframe infrastructure administration specialising in z/OS, CICS, Mainframe network; or in two or more of the following software or systems:

a. Operations Software (e.g., IBM Systems Automation, Netview, IBM Workload Scheduler, IBM Engineering Workflow Management)

b. Enterprise Storage & related software (e.g., Metro-Mirror, Flash Copy, Safe-Guarded Copy, SKLM, EMC TimeFinder, SRDF, Luminex VTL, RMM)

c. Communication and Monitoring Software (TCPIP, VTAM, zSecure Suite, Omegamon Suite)

d. Middleware Software (CICS, CICS Liberty, MQ Series)

  • Install, configure, and maintain z/OS and other system software.
  • Practical experience in IBM System Automation and IBM Work Scheduler will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in supporting disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Programming experience in REXX will be an added advantage.
  • Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective resolutions.
  • Possess strong decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives.
  • Ability to work beyond business hours and weekends for work contingencies where necessary.

The seniority of appointment and actual corporate job title will commensurate with individual work experiences.

Position is on 2-year full time contract directly under the payroll of CPF Board with potential for emplacement into permanent position.
