Job Summary/Purpose
The Pastry Counter Shop Assistant is responsible for the direct sales of fresh and packaged products, operating within the guidelines set by the department manager. The role ensures excellence in customer service through product knowledge and passion.
Responsibilities:
- Handle pastry sales, welcoming and assisting customers while addressing their needs.
- Maintain expert knowledge of products to provide accurate advice and recommendations.
- Ensure product quality by checking freshness and reporting any issues.
- Replenish stock and keep displays neat and well-organized throughout the day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counters and displays.
- Oversee product presentation and ensure proper care of internal and external displays.
- Monitor stock levels, check expiration dates, and maintain packaging supplies.
- Prepare packaging that meets company standards to preserve product quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.
- Maximize sales through upselling and cross-selling, tailored to customer preferences.
- Manage in-store and telephone orders, and provide order estimates.
- Collaborate with the coffee bar and dining area to meet customer requests.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and ensure a smooth handover to colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
