About the Company


H. L. Yong Co (Pte) Ltd is a leading FMCG & foodservice distribution company with branch offices in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. We have developed well-known FMCG brands such as Diamond Foil, S&W, La Molisana and Carmencita, many of which have become household names in Singapore.


We are looking for a talented and driven individual to continue the development of these brands. The individual must be passionate about the FMCG industry, and ideally have some experience in brand development and marketing.


Job Description

  • Work closely with key stakeholders, brand principals and the brand manager to formulate and develop business & marketing strategies to drive demand for assigned brands.
  • Build relationship with brand owners & suppliers in order to facilitate the implementation of business strategy for the responsible product group.
  • Execute the marketing plan for all assigned brands.
  • Work closely with the sales & marketing team to ensure the effectiveness of all marketing campaigns.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to the sales & marketing team, including liaising directly with customers and suppliers, assisting in solving their technical challenges related to assigned brands.
  • Assist the Sales team in identifying and driving product conversion/ substitution opportunities that result in customer savings / productivity and improved margin / sales for the company.
  • Produce simple sales analysis reports.
  • Provide product and technical training to internal teams and customers for the assigned brands.
  • Maintain industry, market and product knowledge and use to capitalize on sales and margin opportunities.
  • Conduct research on pricing and promotional strategy, propose SKUs for key channels and key customers.
  • Review inventory and analyse sell-through rate in order to propose reorder plans and action plans for slow moving merchandise.
  • Understand retail and foodservice sales environment in order to contribute to category and channel strategy for assigned brands and/or product group(s).
  • Contribute to development of consumer portrait, engagement strategies to create rewarding brand experiences.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Related Field
  • Strong marketing and communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to multi-task and work with other departments
  • 1-2 years of industry experience, preferably in the FMCG industry
