The Disaster Recovery Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organizations disaster recovery strategy programme. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure business continuity in the event of disruptions, encompassing risk assessment, planning, testing, and execution of recovery plans. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across departments to establish a resilient infrastructure that safeguards critical business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans that ensure rapid recovery of critical systems and operations.
- Ensure that all new applications and infrastructure have defined disaster recovery requirements and solutions integrated from the outset.
- Work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of disaster recovery plans with overall business continuity strategies.
- Collaborate with related teams to coordinate disaster recovery during crises.
- Conduct annual disaster recovery exercises to assess the effectiveness of recovery plans.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure that their disaster recovery capabilities align with organizational requirements.
- Continuously review and enhance disaster recovery plans based on lessons learned from testing, industry best practices, and changing business needs.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of the disaster recovery programme, including updates on testing outcomes, improvements, and compliance.
- Maintain clear documentation of disaster recovery processes, policies, and procedures for audit and training purposes.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7- 10 years of experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, or risk management.
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery planning frameworks and methodologies.
- Proven experience in project management and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
