Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role supports the finance team in budgeting, auditing, and financial analysis, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- General Accounting:
- Maintain and update financial records (e.g., ledgers, journals) in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Post journal entries and ensure accurate data entry into the accounting system.
- Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, vendor statements, and intercompany accounts.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and financial projections.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process and monitor invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders for timely payment.
- Handle accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and reconciling payments.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue payments.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Ensure financial records comply with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Payroll Processing:
- Oversee or assist in the accurate processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations.
- Handle payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Analysis:
- Provide financial analysis and reports to support business decisions.
- Assist in cost analysis and the identification of potential cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or ACCA certification (preferred).
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.
