Role Overview:
The After Sales Engineer will provide global after-sales support for marine alternative fuel gas supply systems and cargo handling systems. This role involves traveling to customer vessels for troubleshooting, ordering spare parts, delivering engineering services, and liaising with the home office for advanced technical solutions. The engineer will work closely with clients to ensure system performance, resolve operational issues, and provide technical expertise, ensuring customer satisfaction and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting & Field Service:
- Travel on board vessels worldwide to troubleshoot issues with gas supply and cargo handling systems.
- Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions, performing necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Provide on-site technical support, testing, and commissioning services for customers.
- Spare Parts Management:
- Identify necessary spare parts and order them in a timely manner to minimize system downtime.
- Work with the procurement team and suppliers to ensure the availability and timely delivery of spare parts.
- Maintain accurate records of spare parts used and report to the service team for inventory management.
- Customer Support & Liaison:
- Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding after-sales issues.
- Ensure that all customer complaints, service requests, and maintenance needs are addressed promptly and efficiently.
- Provide clients with comprehensive technical guidance and training on the operation and maintenance of systems.
- Coordination with Home Office:
- Collaborate with the home office engineering and commissioning team to provide clients with more specialized solutions or advanced troubleshooting assistance.
- Report back to the office with details of field issues to facilitate continuous improvement and product development.
- Provide feedback to the R&D and engineering teams on recurring issues or areas for improvement in product design or performance.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed service reports following field visits, documenting repairs, parts used, and any recommendations for future maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and quality protocols during service activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records in accordance with company procedures.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and assess the performance of C-LNG’s systems on client vessels and recommend system upgrades or modifications.
- Participate in training and stay updated on new technologies, products, and regulatory changes in marine alternative fuel systems.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that all service activities comply with local and international maritime safety and environmental regulations.
- Provide guidance to customers on maintaining compliance with marine industry standards, including emissions control and alternative fuel use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, Machinery, or Electrical preferred).
- More 5 years of experience in testing & commissioning of ship’s machinery, electrical or other marine system; any experience on LNG gas supply, or cargo handling systems is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in field service, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in challenging environments.
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and reporting. Proficiency in both Chinese and English, with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of maritime safety and environmental regulations is a plus.
