About Us: PAPE Engineering is an Independent Engineering consultancy Firm specializing in engineering services, expertise and basic & detail design to major Oil & Gas Companies and T&I/EPC contractors for offshore facilities.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team andperform structural analyses activities for the loadout, transportation and installation of offshore platforms (jacket, topside) for our various clients (EPIC Contractors, Offshore Installation Contractors, Oil Majors). The ideal candidate will be proficient in using SACS as well as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software and possess a solid understanding of relevant design codes and class regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Integrity Studies: Perform structural integrity studies for offshore structures during pre-service, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant standards.
- Transportation Engineering: Design grillage and seafastening design, including barge underdeck strength checks, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Installation Engineering: Conduct lifting analyses, rigging calculations, lifting point local checks, barge outfitting design, piles driveability assessments, and miscellaneous installation aids design.
- Coordination: Work closely with draftsmen to prepare accurate engineering drawings and specifications.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed engineering reports and follow up on client and class comments to ensure compliance and project alignment.
- Structural Verification: Perform Finite Element structural verifications for a range of structures, from simple steel assemblies to complex mechanical systems, including nonlinear behavior analysis (contacts, pre-stressed elements, etc.).
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to address queries and provide updates on project status.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or General Engineering from a reputable university. A post-graduate degree or additional qualifications are advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on offshore and subsea structures.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as SACS, STAAD PRO and Finite Element Software ANSYS/ABAQUS/ISYMOST/NSO
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
