Position Summary

The Release Operations and Change Manager is essential in enhancing ITIL processes within the Platform Technology division. This role focuses on overseeing the evaluation and approval of technology changes, ensuring compliance with established change management protocols. The manager will lead change approval sessions, monitor progress, secure necessary approvals, and ensure timely closure of all changes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead change approval meetings with technical teams and management.
  • Develop and execute effective change management strategies and plans.
  • Guide cross-functional teams to achieve change objectives successfully.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for senior stakeholders, detailing approved changes and their associated risk profiles.
  • Track change progress, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Collaborate with project managers to seamlessly integrate change management into project planning.
  • Foster a culture of resilience and continuous improvement with a focus on risk management.
  • Analyze trends related to the impacts and outcomes of changes.
  • Review incidents to ensure accurate documentation in line with the Incident Management process.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Change Management.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews for changes that did not succeed or led to incidents.

Release Management:

  • Design and implement effective strategies, processes, and procedures for release management.
  • Oversee all aspects of release activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Work closely with development teams to clarify release requirements and dependencies.
  • Ensure compliance with software release management policies while maintaining proper role segregation.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and adherence to quality assurance standards.
  • Coordinate with operations, technology, and external partners for smooth deployment and rollback planning.
  • Identify and address risks, issues, and conflicts related to releases.
  • Communicate release plans, status updates, and changes to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Continuously refine release management processes and practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior stakeholders on release activities and associated risks.
  • Work alongside project managers to effectively integrate release management into project plans.
  • Cultivate a culture of resilience and ongoing improvement with a focus on risk awareness.
  • Analyze trends in release activities to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Monitor and report on all KPIs related to Release Management.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to conduct post-implementation reviews for unsuccessful changes and rollbacks.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in change management within a large organization.
  • Experience in a regulated financial institution is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of the payments landscape is beneficial.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development life cycles (SDLCs) and release management methodologies.
  • Proficiency with release management tools, code repositories, and DevSecOps pipelines (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow, AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub, BitBucket); experience with ServiceNow is a plus.
  • ITIL 4 certification is required.
