Our client is an international professional services provider with a wide network spanning across various parts of the world. Due to continuous business expansion within their corporate tax team, they are now seeking to hire a driven and tenacious individual as their Corporate Tax Manager or Senior Corporate Tax Manager and be part of their team.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Tax Compliance:
- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of corporate tax returns for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations, including the filing of tax returns, tax computations, and other tax-related documents.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring that clients are informed and their tax strategies are adjusted accordingly.
Tax Advisory & Planning:
- Provide proactive tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance tax efficiency for clients.
- Advise on the tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other corporate transactions.
- Support clients in managing corporate tax risks, identifying opportunities for tax savings, and addressing tax challenges.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact for corporate clients on tax matters, managing day-to-day client interactions and ensuring a high level of service.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and offering tailored tax solutions.
- Lead client meetings, delivering complex tax information in a clear and practical manner.
Tax Audits & Dispute Resolution:
- Support clients during tax audits, including the preparation of documentation, managing communication with tax authorities, and addressing audit queries.
- Assist clients in handling tax disputes, providing technical support and negotiating settlements with tax authorities when necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as audit and advisory, to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
- Work closely with the firm’s international tax teams to address cross-border tax issues and provide clients with global tax solutions.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff in the corporate tax team, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Manage and allocate resources to ensure the successful delivery of client projects.
- Review work prepared by junior staff and ensured high-quality service delivery.
Research & Technical Analysis:
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide clients with technical advice based on the latest tax legislation and case law.
- Stay updated on tax developments, including local and international tax regulations, and share insights with clients and the team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or relevant discipline preferably with a professional qualification as recognised by SCTP
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate tax, with experience in a mid-tier or Big 4 tax firm preferred.
- Must be familiar with Singapore Tax guidelines.
- Strong understanding of corporate tax laws, regulations, and tax accounting.
- Experience in providing tax advisory services, with a focus on strategic tax planning and risk management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop junior team members.
- Proficiency in tax software and financial reporting tools is advantageous.
