Pro Bono SG, formally known as Law Society Pro Bono Services, is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee with IPC status administers the Community Law Centre. Pro Bono SG is inviting applications for the position of Community Law Fellow under the Community Law Fellowship.
The Job
The Community Law Fellowship allows lawyers the opportunity to work full time on community law cases (e.g family, civil, personal and Syariah cases). Fellows act exclusively for applicants who are granted aid.
- Apart from legal representation, Community Law Fellows will also be involved in conducting interviews to assist in determining and making recommendations on whether aid ought to be extended to deserving persons.
- Community Law Fellows can expect to collaborate with the social service sector during their tenure to promote the practice of integrated legal care.
- Community Law Fellows will be guided by Community Law Advocates, and will have access to senior members of the bar for guidance and support.
An annualized salary package will be offered to the right candidates.
Applications are also open to newly qualified lawyers with a strong track record of pro bono work.
Requirements
- Called to the Singapore bar
The ideal candidate will have:
- Some law or pro bono experience
- A demonstrated passion for pro bono work
- Ability to manage a large workload
- Self-motivated, resourceful and good team player
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and within tight deadlines
