Primary Responsibilities:
1. Oversee fabrication operations: Manage day-to-day activities, ensure production meets quality and safety standards.
2. Supervise fabrication team: Lead, train, and evaluate fabricators, welders, and other production staff.
3. Project planning: Coordinate with project managers to understand project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
4. Quality control: Conduct inspections, ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AWS & EN1090).
5. Safety management: Implement and enforce safety protocols, maintain a hazard-free work environment.
Fabrication-Related Responsibilities:
1. Review drawings and specifications: Understand project requirements, identify potential fabrication issues.
2. Develop fabrication plans: Create schedules, allocate resources, and prioritize tasks.
3. Material management: Coordinate material procurement, storage, and inventory control.
4. Welding operations: Oversee welding processes, ensure quality and adherence to welding procedures.
5. Dimensional control: Verify accuracy of fabricated components.
Team Management Responsibilities:
1. Performance management: Evaluate team member performance, provide feedback, and address concerns.
2. Training and development: Identify training needs, provide guidance, and support professional growth.
3. Conflict resolution: Address conflicts, resolve issues, and maintain a positive work environment.
4. Communication: Ensure clear communication among team members, project managers, and clients.
5. Team building: Foster collaboration, promote teamwork, and encourage open communication.
Administrative Responsibilities:
1. Reporting: Prepare and submit production reports, quality control reports, and safety incident reports.
3. Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
4. Continuous improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, implement changes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. 5+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication
2. Supervisory or management experience
4. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
5. Proficient in fabrication software (e.g., related to CNC)
6. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
7. Secondary school or above in a relevant field
Certifications and Training:
1. First Aid/CPR certification
2. Leadership and management training programs
