Job Summary
The Infrastructure IT Specialist/Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security. This role requires experience in managing server environments, network systems, cloud infrastructure, and various IT services. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the organization's technological needs and drive improvements in infrastructure resilience and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Server & Systems Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and backup systems. Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Network Administration: Monitor and maintain network systems, including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN connections. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Support, configure, and optimize cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for scalability and performance.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices to safeguard IT infrastructure. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and incident response activities.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools to ensure infrastructure components’ health, performance, and availability. Proactively address issues and optimize system efficiency.
- Disaster Recovery & Backup: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans. Regularly test and update recovery procedures.
- Collaboration & Support: Provide technical support and collaborate with teams to resolve IT-related issues. Assist in planning and deploying new infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Proficiency in server management (Windows/Linux), networking, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar.
- Familiarity with security practices, firewall configurations, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
