Job Purpose
Are you a seasoned social work professional with a passion for leadership and community development? Join our team as a Deputy Head and play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the delivery of comprehensive social work services. This is your chance to make a significant impact through strategic planning, staff supervision, program development, and community engagement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Management
- Assist in strategic planning and implementation of policies and procedures and contribute to decision-making processes.
- Supervise and mentor senior social workers and staff, oversee performance management, and facilitate professional development.
- Lead the development and evaluation of programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and service delivery standards.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements and implement quality assurance processes.
Community Engagement and Development
- Conduct assessments to identify community needs and gaps in service. Make informed decisions on program development and resource allocation.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and represent the agency in various capacities.
- Lead outreach initiatives and advocate for community needs and resources.
Casework and Supervision
- Provide oversight and support for complex and high-risk cases. Supervise case reviews and document/report using SSNET/other systems.
- Offer clinical supervision and guidance to social workers, ensuring practices are aligned with best practice.
Research and Evaluation
- Identify and oversee research projects to enhance service delivery.
- Lead the evaluation of programs to measure impact and inform strategic planning and program development.
Administrative and Operational Support
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations, including budgeting, resource allocation and facilities management.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor/Postgraduate Diploma/Master in Social Work or related field.
- Additional qualifications in management or leadership are advantageous.
- At least 8 years in social work, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, proficiency in strategic planning, up-to-date professional knowledge, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and effective organizational skills.
