Job Summary

  • Standard Chartered needs a Hive Tech Lead to drive the success of the combined Treasury Markets and Intraday Liquidity journey. This role sits within Treasury Technology team and will work closely with Treasury COO, Treasury Services, Treasury Markets, FM Technology and Treasury Technology teams.
  • The Hive Tech Lead will be accountable to drive technology strategy, project delivery, process, people agenda, risk and governance of the journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy

  • Awareness of SCB’s group strategy and steer hive strategy to achieve group outcomes
  • Alignment of technology strategy to business strategy
  • Management and measurement of strategic outcomes
  • Align T-M/IDL Hive activities towards Technology Strategy/ Scorecard

Business

  • Delivery of strategic technology systems for IDL and Treasury Markets
  • Drive effectiveness and efficiencies of T-M/IDL Hive to achieve business outcomes
  • Awareness of the impact of T-M and IDL processes to the bank’s business
  • Ensures timely and stable running of systems owned by the hive

Processes

  • Implement systems operations processes leveraging the disciplines of SRE (Systems Reliability Engineering)
  • Accountable once IDL transformation is implemented, transition domain over to ongoing Incremental Change (IC) model under Build & Maintain (B&M)

People & Talent

  • Building and maintaining strong technologists and technology leaders
  • Overall people leadership responsibility for technology teams with diverse skill sets, including budgeting, interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing more T-shaped/ M-shaped colleagues.
  • Ensuring squads are adequately resourced and fully funded

Risk Management

  • Management of third party risks related to usage of vendors and associated technologies
  • Manages all information and cyber security risks owned by the hive
  • Understands and manages capacity and resiliency of systems

Governance

  • Adherence of all hive releases to prevailing System Delivery Framework
  • Ensure the T-M/IDL domain adheres to all tech governance standards across ICS, risk, audit, resilience, service level dimensions

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the T-M/IDL Hive to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles:
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership with a leading commercial bank, preferably with international exposure
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting/Science
  • Proven and relevant experience preferably in trade lifecycle across Cash, Trade and Financial Markets. Relevant experience in Treasury activities preferable including risk management and intraday liquidity forecasting
  • Familiarity with relevant parts of the CIB organisation with regards payment, settlement and ledger flows
  • Thought leadership and proven ability to work across a global team and effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and program management skills with proven ability to collect and analyse data, establish facts, and make recommendations in written and oral form
  • Successfully handle challenging roles requiring collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Work with all levels of management and staff, successfully manage and engage multiple stakeholders, negotiate effectively in situations involving conflicting interests and positively influence key decision makers on critical issues. Proven people leader with experience managing other team leaders / senior individuals.
  • Liaise and coordinate on an ongoing with various parts of the Bank, including senior business and risk stakeholders
