About this Job

We are looking for a pro-active and highly driven individual to take on the role of Information Technology (IT) Assistant Manager / Manager APAC (Role). He/she is responsible to plan, oversee, manage the essential IT aspects such as infrastructure, technology-related projects, cybersecurity, IT asset life-cycle management, vendor and contract management within the corporate and regional offices.

The candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of business operations to collaborate effectively with department staff and stakeholders both within and outside the organization.

He/She should demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork and responsibility, coupled with proficient technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex issues in a dynamic environment. Furthermore, the successful candidate should be committed to operational excellence and dedicated to delivering the best possible user experience.

Scope of Work

  • Responsible for the operations, backup and maintenance of all IT Infrastructure and operations (Network, System, Application, Cloud Server, Cybersecurity) and ensuring the overall operation department’s strategic objectives and targets are achieved
  • Design, implement, and project manage major IT projects including system procurement, development, and upgrades
  • Identify opportunities and initiate improvement and updating of hardware, software and systems
  • Provide and lead technical consultancy to various project teams to meet project objectives and requirements
  • Manage external vendors to ensure technological systems continue to meet project requirements and security architecture are adhered to the industry best practices and guidelines
  • Co-ordinate and execute implementation of infrastructure cybersecurity activities such as desktop and server security patches
  • Co-ordinate and implement infrastructure standards and server technical requirements such as SOPs and relevant policy documentation with stakeholders
  • Manage procurement requests for hardware, software, applications, cloud service and professional services as needed.
  • Oversee inventory of IT assets (Including dependencies and attributes) and ensure that the teams in charge of the tools accurately record modifications, withdrawals, and replacement of existing ones. Responsible for managing the entire lifecycle and technical support of IT assets (hardware and software) from procurement to decommissioning
  • Manage activities related to license compliance and other IT related audits such as asset sighting to verify IT assets to ensure that they are accounted for while licensing contracts are valid
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach and recommendation in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending

Requirements

  • A diploma/degree in Information Systems/Technology, ComputerScience, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5 years of relevant working experience in an IT environment with a minimum 2 years in a team leadership role, is preferred
  • Experience in supporting server and network environment
  • Self-starter with analytical and strong problem-solving skills
  • Continually curious mindset to learn more, motivated to provide best experience for all stakeholders and end users
  • Certified or working knowledge of Azure, O365, Exchange, VMware, Microsoft Server Administration
  • Competent in Cybersecurity and IT service management methodologies with ITIL v4.0 experience as a plus
  • Proficient communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and to negotiate effectively with vendors and partners
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in a multi-tasking, fast-paced and complex work environment
  • Ability to work as a team and independently with minimum supervision
