Responsibilities of Resident Technical Officer RTO (Architectural)
- To monitor the project including progress control, quality control, variation/cost control, safety control, environmental control etc.
- To check that contractor executes preliminaries on all items specified in tender documents.
- To maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done, including records of tests, inspections, status of work, safety, site diary, material and equipment on site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities, etc.
- To ensure architectural specifications are met and details are executed by the contractor.
- To liaise with contractors/sub-contractors in the coordination of site works.
- To assist Consultant/Employer in the supervision and quality assurance of construction work on-site and off-site manufacturing facilities.
- To coordinate with the Site Staff of the other disciplines; namely, Mechanical & Electrical and Civil & Structural.
- To assist Consultant/Employer on the work progress on-site/off-site manufacturing facilities and report any delay immediately.
- To verify reports and claims submitted by contractors. To submit Weekly Progress Reports, inspect and draw-up defect list. To attend all Client Consultants Meeting (CCM), Site Progress Meetings and Site Walks as and when required.
- To ensure the contractors maintain work safety, cleanliness, and tidiness of the site.
- To highlight discrepancies, feedback site progress, irregularities, and any critical/major issue to SO/SO rep.
- To undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the consultant team.
Requirement of Resident Technical Officer RTO (Architectural)
- Diploma in Architectural or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
- Minimum 8 years of experience as Resident Technical Officer with experience in supervision of Healthcare related project is preferred
- Experience in supervision of precast façade works will be an added advantage.
- Relevant experience in the co-ordination of architectural works with C&S and M&E Works.
- Fully conversant with statutory regulations, codes for site supervision and quality control procedures
- Able to resolve site and technical issues, prepare and document detailed site progress reports and communicate effectively with technical personnel as well as workmen on site.
- A person of good integrity, be able to differentiate personal preferences and official rights, strict and firm but fair and reasonable.
- A good team player with effective communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge in BIM and VDC capabilities will be an added advantage.
