Occupational Therapists are a key cog in the healthcare eco system. They are part of the allied workers who people to restore, improve or maintain their ability to perform daily activities and lead meaningful lives, especially after an illness or disability caused by injury or developmental delay.


Importnantly, this includes self-care, returning to normal life and their usual activities. This includes going to work or school, engaging in leisure or social activities in their community.


Occupational Therapists work with patients of all ages and are trained to identify physical, cognitive or psychosocial problems encountered by patients.


After identifying the problem, an Occupational Therapist must establish a treatment plan to guide and assist patients in their recovery process.


From time to time, they will also need to intervene and manage issues related to their condition.


This may include helping patients to develop new skills to perform their roles and tasks in daily living, prescription of assistive devices or modification of their physical or social environment to enable patients to do the things that are important to them safely.


The role is available Immediately and the applicant must be able to register with Allied Health Professions Council in Singapore as Full Registrant and have a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.


JOB DESCRIPTION.


  • Assess and identify the individual needs of clients and formulate, develop and implement appropriate individualized/ group therapy programmes
  • Apply evidence-based practices in the intervention programme for clients
  • Keep updated of development and research in areas pertaining to occupational therapy
  • Be part of the transdisciplinary team of therapist, social workers and psychologist in the programme
  • Conduct workshops and training for both internal and external stakeholders
