The National University of Singapore invites applications for Visiting Professor in the Department of Centre for Infectious Disease Emergency Response (CIDER), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. CIDER aims to expand the university's key contributions to pandemic preparedness and the response to infectious diseases. Through focused capacity building, CIDER will create and coordinate training, teaching, and operational efforts related to outbreak preparedness.

Support, advise, develop, and deliver the MSc in Infectious Disease Emergencies programme. The role will ensure high-quality education and training for professionals in outbreak preparedness and response, leveraging expertise in both remote and in-person delivery. The candidate will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, ensuring it reflects current and emerging global health challenges, and contributing to the overall success of the MSc programme, set to begin in August 2025

Qualifications

  1. PhD or equivalent in a relevant field such as Infectious Diseases, Public Health, Epidemiology, Tropical Medicine, or a related discipline.
  2. Extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development at the postgraduate level, preferably in a global health context.
  3. Proven track record in delivering both in-person and remote learning
  4. Experience mentoring postgraduate level students
  5. Significant practical and academic experience in outbreak preparedness, response, and management.
  6. Ability to engage in cross-cutting topics, including epidemiology, public health, infectious disease control, and health systems strengthening.
  7. Demonstrated leadership roles in international or national organizations related to public health or outbreak response.
  8. Ability to collaborate effectively across sectors and with global stakeholders.
  9. Willing to travel to Singapore three times a year for 2-4 weeks to support the MSc programme.
