What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a WAG Coach who is passionate about developing gymnasts at the crucial mid-level stages and is committed to building a pipeline of future high performers. You will be responsible for managing and enhancing our mid-level competitive program, with a focus on technical precision, individual growth, and competitive success. This role is essential to ensuring our athletes have the best possible foundation to pursue collegiate scholarships or national team aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Implement Training Programs: Lead and design athlete-centred training plans for gymnasts at levels 2-6, with a strong emphasis on technique, progression, and long-term athlete development.
- Nurture Talent: Focus on developing gymnasts to prepare them for higher levels of competition, including the Singapore national team and NCAA pathways.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with The Yard’s program managers and coaching team to innovate and implement best practices that drive success across all competitive levels.
- Event Participation: Contribute to the organisation and execution of competitive events, camps, and clinics that provide gymnasts with valuable developmental experiences.
- Supportive Environment: Maintain open, transparent communication with athletes, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive, growth-oriented training environment.
- Team Leadership: Play a key role in daily coaching operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and excellence across all programs.
- Mentorship & Education: Contribute to The Yard’s Coaches Education Program, bringing expertise and knowledge to develop and inspiring training coaches
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of WAG coaching experience, ideally at US levels 2-6 or equivalent.
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing gymnasts to higher competitive levels and achieving strong results.
- Technical Expertise: A keen eye for quality coaching with an emphasis on physical preparation, strong technique and athlete safety & wellbeing.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating leadership and a collaborative approach to coaching and program planning.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and engaging athletes, parents, and staff.
- Program Management: Experience in organising and managing gymnastics programs and events.
