Job Summary:
The Purchasing Director for Technology & Cloud Services is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies specifically for networking, cloud, and infrastructure services. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective acquisitions aligned with business needs in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. The Purchasing Director will also focus on expanding the supply chain into new markets and work closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy in Technology Services: Develop and implement purchasing strategies specifically for network hardware, cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), and other technology infrastructure needs, ensuring best-in-class sourcing practices.
- Supplier Management: Build and manage relationships with key suppliers and service providers in the technology sector, with a focus on cloud and infrastructure vendors, ensuring performance and reliability.
- New Market Expansion: Explore and secure new suppliers and partnerships in emerging markets to enhance the company's technology supply chain, especially in networking and cloud services.
- Cost Optimization: Negotiate contracts and optimize costs for cloud, networking, and software services, ensuring both value and scalability as the company grows.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel internationally (up to 40%) to visit suppliers, attend technology and procurement events, and expand sourcing opportunities in new markets.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, finance, and operations teams to align technology procurement needs with business objectives, ensuring the timely implementation of network and cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the technology sector.
- Proven experience in sourcing and managing suppliers for cloud services, networking equipment, and infrastructure technologies.
- Familiarity with key vendors in the cloud sector (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and technology procurement best practices.
- Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and verbal, is required.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a strategic approach to cost optimization and supplier performance.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in opening new markets and sourcing in Asia, particularly in tech-driven industries.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in networking, cloud, and IT infrastructure.
- Certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or technology asset management.
