Key Objectives:
The Operations Manager is required to oversee, plan, and manage the entire fleet and operations management
Main Activities:
Ground Operations
- Oversee the Operations team in managing the daily operations activities and ensuring timeliness of order deliveries, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Review and coordinate with the team on fleet schedules, assignments and laytime
- Conduct daily operations roll call to enforce discipline and ensure smooth coordination and delegation of tasks between administrative team and ground operations
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service team to handle customer feedback and resolve operational issues
Leadership and Mentoring
- Mentor and motivate Operations team to achieve Operational KPIs
- Establish Key Result Areas and performance review for the team
- Promote and align processes and objectives with organizational business focus on Digitalization, Internalization, and Sustainability
Fleet Planning and Management
- Develop and implement strategies for fleet management, including vehicle servicing, maintain mandatory equipment onboard each vehicle, equipment required onboard vehicle to fulfil client's contract, and vendor negotiations
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement teams to manage maintenance of fleet and equipment
- Monitor market trends and technological advancements to ensure the fleet remains modern and cost-effective
Maintenance and Repairs
- Prepare and assess department budget to drive cost reductions for maintenance and repair for fleet of vehicles
- Establish maintenance schedules, procedures to minimize downtime, ensure the safety and reliability of the fleet
- Oversee maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and servicing, to maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Manage relationships with maintenance vendors and ensure quality of service
Digitalization and Analytics
- Utilize data analytics to identify trends, optimize performance, and reduce costs
- Evaluate and manage fleet management software and telematics solutions to improve tracking, monitoring, and reporting capabilities
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve fleet operations
Compliance and Risk Management
- Conduct weekly meetings and monthly toolbox meetings to plan, track and monitor tasks assigned to the team
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including licensing, insurance, and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to fleet operations, inspections, and incidents
Qualifications / Experience:
- Relevant degree or diploma
- At least 5 years of managerial experience in logistics or fleet management
- Experienced in oil & gas industry is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge in Operations Management and technical automotive knowledge
- Good numerical, analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills
- Able to handle stress and meet deadlines
