Quantity Surveyor

Requirements:
- Min Degree / Diploma in QS or its equivalent
- At least 3 years and above of QS experience
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide details estimation with Taking-Off Quantity and understanding of requirements in each tender that meet Client’s expectation.
- Sourcing of sub-con quotation, comparison and evaluation.
- Able to determine correct pricing after evaluation of quotation.
- Analyse potential savings for new awarded projects in order to maximise profit.
- To monitor, study and subsequently tabulate site completion report upon project completion to track and improve budgeting tactics.
- Obtain quotation and market pricings for all trades to update pricing database to ensure Requisition of Purchase Order (RPO) rates and future budget rates are within reasonable limit.
- Generate charts / graphs on pricing trends to monitor and predict market trends in order to forecast possible changes in pricings in the near future.
- Negotiate with subcontractors/ suppliers to obtain best possible pricing for project sites and study the possibility of bulk or package award.
- To check the terms and conditions of quotation and pricing for RPO from site to prevent any hidden or additional costs and to ensure all scope has been covered in Purchase Order (PO) awarded.
- Check comparisons for RPO from sites and check the exclusions in the quotations to prevent hidden costs.
- Monitor site PO requisitions and advice project sites on urgent or outstanding awards to ensure timeliness of award to prevent delay to project.
- Keep track and update site expenses and monitor against site budget to ensure all expenses are within budget.
- To conduct quarterly site discussion with Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor on respective sites to brief budget status to ensure all expenses and future expenses are in order and for site to plan and control future expenses.
- Source new contractors for quotation and pricing comparison against existing contractors to check and compare with current existing contractor’s pricing.
- To check company track records and project references prior to award of new contractors or suppliers to ensure reliability of the contractor/supplier.
- Feedback to Cost Planning Department on latest pricings in order to obtain a more accurate tender pricing.
- Compile and check monthly cost reports against projection and record monthly cost difference with reasons and proper substantiation.
- Study project specific requirements and to forecast possible additional costs base on projection.
- Check and monitor site expenses for all trades.
- Tracking of project VO lists including computation of expected profit.
