Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
- Complies with approved standards of nursing practices.
- Participates in activities to improve quality of care.
- Attends to the needs of the residents.
- Reports resident’s needs to the nurse in charge.
- Ensures the safety, comfort and well-being of the residents..
- Ensures good personal hygiene of the residents under his/her care.
- Checks, monitors and records vital signs taken and to report to nurse in charge any abnormal readings.
- Assists in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
- Assists the RN in ensuring residents take their medications.
- Serves meals and feeds the residents.
- Assists the nurse in the care for resident with urinary catheter.
- Assists in admission and orientation of new residents.
- Maintains accurate documentation of care given.
- Accompanies residents to the hospital/polyclinic for follow-up appointments and outing trips.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for the nursing home.
- Performs rehabilitation activities such as motion exercise and walking with residents.
- Organizes and sends resident for appropriate therapy as prescribed, example occupational therapy
- Escalate to nurses any emergency situations; where necessary take first responder actions to mitigate the emergency.
Secondary Responsibilities and duties (20%)
- Supports in clinical service projects
- Supports infection control campaign activities
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
- GCE N Level.
- Attained Training in either WSQ Higher Certificate/Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care); or Institute of Technical (ITE) Approved Training Centre (ATC) Healthcare (Home Care) programme
- For Foreign Trained – Diploma in Nursing
