Position Overview

Science Centre Singapore is dedicated to the promotion of interest, learning and creativity in Science & Technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and to contribute to the nation's development of its human resource.


We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the Exhibitions department as a Lead Exhibition Imagineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing content for Permanent and Temporary Exhibitions, delivering meaningful, interactive, and engaging experiences for Science Centre’s visitors. By integrating creativity and innovative technological advancements, the Imagineer will create distinctive experiential storytelling of Science within our exhibition galleries.


Essential Job Functions


As the lead Exhibition Imagineer, you will be tasked with conducting research and development in Science and Social Science Content for exhibition experience. Additionally, you will oversee project management, script development, and education programmes in collaboration with our Education Programmes Division.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a strong knowledge of Science, preferably holding a degree in Physics or equivalent, and have 5 to 8 years of experience in exhibit development at a Science Centre or Science Museum.


The candidate should be passionate about communicating science, with excellent people, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. You must be able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, comprising both internal and external parties, throughout the project development process.


The candidate must demonstrate the ability to translate concepts into experiences and lead ideation from inception. They should be self-driven and creative, with strong organisational and communication skills, as well as a good aesthetic sense.


Knowledge in Design, Educational Technology, User Experience, and User Interface is advantageous. Above all, the candidate must be able to map out the narrative and flow of an exhibition topic to create an exciting and compelling experience.
