Job Description
The IT Governance Manager plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a robust governance framework within the IT department. This position is instrumental in identifying and closing process and governance gaps, ensuring the alignment of IT practices with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Governance Framework Development
- Design and implement IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to support the organization's strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Process Improvement
- Identify gaps in existing IT processes and governance structures and develop action plans to address these deficiencies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT governance operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure consistency across the organization.
Risk Management
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats to IT governance.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's IT assets and data.
Performance Monitoring
- Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the performance of IT governance and process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of governance and process improvement efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with key stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment of IT governance initiatives with business needs.
- Provide training and support to staff on IT governance and process improvement practices.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT governance, risk management, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record of identifying and closing process and governance gaps.
- Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks and industry standards (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in using governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools and software.
