International Tax Manager

Job Summary

Handle both direct and indirect taxes across all business operations in Asia, Europe, USA, Latin America and Middle East in which the group has a presence, and including new markets to be developed. Manage and optimize the group’s effective tax rate, identifying tax optimization and provide advisories on the tax structuring of acquisitions and new ventures.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with commercial and finance teams to ensure that all operations and transactions are structured in a manner that is tax efficient, relate all localized planning to the group global strategy, covering the jurisdictions in which we operate.
  • Work closely with business development, legal and commercial teams to structure M&A deals, new operations, in order to mitigate tax exposures. Coordinate with external advisors as appropriate.
  • Advise and assist on transfer pricing issues and documentation (including master file, local file and country-by-country reporting), ensure compliance and promote best practices.
  • Work with financial and treasury teams to ensure tax-efficient financing arrangements of downstream operations, in relation to minimizing withholding taxes, managing thin capitalization issues and optimize tax benefits.
  • Work with relevant authorities to secure tax incentives as appropriate, ensure compliance with all conditions of award.
  • Calculate, prepare and/ or review all tax returns to ensure compliance and timeliness of reporting for both direct and indirect taxes.
  • Review and check relevant supporting documents such as tax invoices etc.
  • Assume overall responsibility for tax compliance, both direct and indirect across all downstream businesses, working with internal finance staff and external advisors as appropriate.
  • Deal with tax authorities within the jurisdictions as necessary in relation to queries, negotiation and disputes.
  • Constantly keep abreast of changes in tax legislations and assess their implications on our business. Take appropriate actions to positively respond to such changes.
  • Provide tax advisories and may require assistance with specific employee or personal income tax issues.
  • Have understanding BEPS Pillar 2 regulations is more preferable.
