Job Description
Ennovi is looking for an experienced Legal and Compliance Counsel to be part of our Legal Team. This role is based in Singapore and requires a highly motivated, committed and skilled professional with a passion for corporate compliance and ethics. The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel and will play a key role in administering and supporting Ennovi’s global corporate compliance program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance:
- Review regulatory and compliance policies to ensure that they are up-to-date
- Keep informed of relevant legal developments, in particular laws and regulations relating to bribery and corruption, data privacy, competition, export control and sanctions
- Conduct compliance and ethics training sessions
- Develop and conduct/oversee internal investigation procedures related to regulatory and compliance issues. Prepare investigation reports and recommend corrective actions as necessary
- Conduct/oversee third party due diligence screening
- Manage whistleblower program
- Collaborate with legal team members and internal stakeholders to monitor enforcement of regulatory and compliance policies
- Advise business divisions on compliance and ethics issues
- Review and advise business divisions on contractual provisions related to bribery and corruption, data privacy, competition, and trade compliance related laws
Legal:
- Conduct legal research, render professional legal advice and support to all business divisions.
- Draft, review, advise and negotiate with external counterparts on a variety of international commercial contracts which include manufacturing agreements and procurement agreements
- Provide legal support on general corporate matters and strategic transactions
- Identify and manage legal risks in contracts, operations and claims, and engage with internal stakeholders.
- Identify and deliver appropriate training to internal stakeholders
- Manage relationships with company appointed outside counsel
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) or foreign equivalent from a reputable university
- Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
- Minimum 9 years of inhouse or law firm experience, with extensive hands-on working experience in relevant legal and compliance areas
- Possess the highest professional and ethical standards
- Strategic and analytical problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong negotiation skills with transaction management experience
- Ability to provide practical guidance and legal solutions to all internal stakeholders across all levels
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strong command in English and excellent writing skills; proficiency in multiple languages is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Organized, able to multi-task and prioritize, and work well under pressure in an intensely timeline-oriented and multi-cultural team environment
- Willing to work flexible hours (this role requires collaboration with colleagues in different time zones)
- Some international travel may be required according to business needs
- Strong overall computer skills, and proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Able to work three times a week in office (you will have the option to work from home two times a week)
